THE STUDENTS AT THE HOSPITAL. WELL, SEVERAL UPDATES TONIGHT FROM THE DOUGLAS COUNTY attorney’S OFFICE, INCLUDING A HATE CRIME INVESTIGATION IN NORTHWEST OMAHA, KETV. NEWSWATCH SEVEN’S JOSH KRISTIANTO JOINS US LIVE WITH NEW DETAILS. WELL, THE HEADLINE IN THAT HATE CRIME CASE, PROSECUTORS SAY THEY DON’T PLAN ON CHARGING THE THIRD MAN WHO WAS INVOLVED. WE ALSO ASKED ABOUT TWO DEADLY CRASHES OVER THIS PAST WEEK AND THE FATAL OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING A MAN GOES DOOR TO DOOR LOOKING FOR HELP IN NORTH WEST OMAHA, ALLEGING HE WAS HELD AGAINST HIS WILL AND ASSAULTED IN A HATE CRIME. DOUGLAS COUNTY PROSECUTORS EXPLAIN WHY THEY’RE NOT CHARGING A THIRD PERSON. THE INDICATIONS ARE BASED ON THE INVESTIGATION THAT THE THIRD, THE THIRD PARTY, WAS NOT PARTICIPATORY IN THIS CRIME. TWO OTHER MEN FACE HATE CRIME RELATED CHARGES, INCLUDING FALSE IMPRISONMENT. PROSECUTORS ALSO PROVIDED UPDATES ON SEVERAL OTHER CASES TUESDAY, INCLUDING THIS FATAL OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING. CHIEF DEPUTY attorney BRENDA BEADLE SAYS IT APPEARS THREE OFFICERS WERE JUSTIFIED, DIED. POLICE SAY A MAN TOLD THEM HE WANTED TO DIE, THEN POINTED THE GUN AT THEM AND A DRIVER. PROSECUTORS DO ANTICIPATE CHARGES IN THIS DEADLY CRASH ON DODGE STREET. INVESTIGATORS BELIEVE TWO DRIVERS WERE RACING WHEN ONE OF THEM, A DOCTOR, LOST CONTROL OF HIS MERCEDES AND CRASHED INTO 22 YEAR OLD WOMAN FROM SOUTH DAKOTA. SHE DIED THAT FRIDAY NIGHT. WE’VE SEEN KIND OF AN UPTICK IN THOSE IN THESE CRIMES. AND IT’S TRAGIC ALL AROUND. AND, YOU KNOW, YOU ALMOST YOU JUST HAVE TO DRIVE DEFENSIVELY. A CASE LIKE THIS COULD BRING UP TO 20 YEARS IN PRISON. AND PROSECUTORS ALSO SAY THEY PLAN TO CHARGE THE DRIVER WHO HIT AND KILLED A BICYCLE LIST ON 252ND AND RAINWOOD ROAD. Prosecutors anticipate charges being filed in a deadly crash on Dodge Street.Investigators said 61-year-old Mark Carlson lost control of his Mercedes, went into oncoming eastbound traffic, and struck and killed 22-year-old Anna Bosma of South Dakota earlier this month.Prosecutors believe 26-year-old Cameron Robinson and Carlson were “racing” down Dodge Street when Carlson crashed into Bosma.Deputy Douglas County attorney Brenda Beadle told KETV NewsWatch 7 that Carlson, a doctor, is expected to be charged.”We’ve seen kind of an uptick in these crimes. It’s tragic all around and you almost just have to drive defensively,” Beadle said.There’s no word at this time if Robinson will face Charges.Last week, Douglas County attorney Don Kleine told KETV NewsWatch 7 that Carlson was allegedly driving about 100 mph at the time of the crash.According to a search warrant, an officer searched the vehicle Robinson was driving and seized an iPad.Get the latest headlines from KETV NewsWatch 7

Prosecutors anticipate charges being filed in a deadly crash on Dodge Street.
Investigators said 61-year-old Mark Carlson lost control of his Mercedes, went into oncoming eastbound traffic, and struck and killed 22-year-old Anna Bosma of South Dakota earlier this month.
Prosecutors believe 26-year-old Cameron Robinson and Carlson were “racing” down Dodge Street when Carlson crashed into Bosma.
