- What made you decide to run for statewide office: To fight for one Louisianan, is a fight for ALL Louisianians. I want to do what I am best at doing, and that is representing the everyday hardworking, tax-paying citizen. Holding a statewide office will allow me to do just that. It will allow me to be a Protector of All Louisianians.
- Have you ever run for or held public office before? If so, what offices and where: I have never run for office or held a public office.
- How long have you lived in Louisiana: I have lived in Louisiana for over 6 years.
- What made you decide to run for this office in particular:
- I am running for attorney General of Louisiana because after spending decades litigating to protect my clients from special interest groups, I learned that the fight for a fair economy is still on. Louisianians all over this state are struggling to make ends meet. I am committed to fighting for fair wages and an economy that works for all of us.
- I am running for office for the first time; however, I have the experience to get the job done and to make Louisiana a place where people suffering from addiction can receive the treatment they need. I’m running because whether you live in a big city or rural Louisiana you feel safe. As an experienced trial lawyer, I have fought over and over to ensure that the unpopular folks receive a fair shot, and I will bring that same passion with me to the AG’s office.
- Other than people, what would you say is the greatest asset our state has:
- One of the greatest assets the State of Louisiana has is the industry that drives all other industries. We have our ports. That means we have the ability to export and import goods. Commerce & Trade. Global Trade Magazine states, Ports of the South Louisiana, New Orleans and Plaquemines ranked #1, #4 and #11 in America. Also known as Top 50 Power Ports. The Port of South Louisiana, the largest tonnage port in the entire hemisphere.
- The Port of New Orleans is the 4th largest port in the U.S. In addition, our North Louisiana Ports provides transportation and cost advantages. These ports are significant to the economy of the nation, and that is one of our greatest assets.
- What is the greatest challenge our state faces in the near term and in the long term: One of the greatest challenges our state faces is Criminal justice reform. As AG, I will fight hard for everyone in Louisiana. I will fight hard to repair our justice system and protect All Louisianians. It is time to end injustice and racial inequalities and we can start with Criminal Justice Reforms.
- What would be the first issue you would tackle if elected One of the first issues I would tackle is the Public Safety Crisis. Transformation needs to take place. We need to invest in social services that will assist families. Families are suffering and lacking the resources needed to live a decent life. We need to put measures in place to ensure social justice is happening, People do not feel safe. According to The Washington Post, there have been more than 356,000 students impacted by gun violence at schools since Columbine. We cannot continue to sit back and do nothing. The public safety crisis is real, and we have to fight for our safety. Louisiana ranks in the top 10 of violent crimes. We cannot continue to turn a blind eye on what is real. We need an AG that knows how to fight. I want to put the pieces back together, and I can do that with the public’s trust. I will be accountable and transparent.
