Disgraced attorney serving 5-10 hit with new charges Monday
MEDIA COURTHOUSE — A former Media attorney currently serving a state prison sentence of 5-10 years for secretly recording nine people engaged in sexual acts over a period of about five years — including three minors — was charged with additional counts of possessing child pornography and invasion of privacy Monday.

Patrick F. Lomax, 45, is facing two new counts of photographing a child sex act, three counts of invasion of privacy, and 20 new counts each of child pornography and criminal use of a communication device.
The new charges include counts for allegedly possessing images and videos of two new minors and one new adult victim.
They were filed after a shoebox containing additional material unknown to prosecutors at the time of Lomax’s conviction and sentence was discovered in August, according to an affidavit of probable cause written by Delaware County Detective Sgt. Kenneth Bellis.
According to the new affidavit filed Monday:
Workers for a commercial cleaning company were clearing out Lomax’s former office on the first block of Olive Street in Media when a large black shoebox fell out of ceiling tiles being removed, opening when it fell.
The workers found the box contained “several pornographic CDs with labels depicting young naked women.” Media police took possession of the box and turned it over to Bellis.
Inside were two external hard drives; 82 unmarked loose CD/DVDs; 37 unmarked CD/DVDs in a plastic container; 10 loose CD/DVDs that had been labeled; 13 CD/DVDs in labeled cases, many of which indicated pornography; five CD/DVDs indicating pornography from a specific production company; a labeled DVD; and identifying information for Lomax, including three identical pictures of him.
One hard drive appeared to contain videos of the same victims identified in the original prosecution and many appeared to be the same videos previously recovered.
The second hard drive, however, contained videos of two new victims engaged in sexual activity in the same Media house where the other videos were recorded. The videos were labeled with the alleged victims’ names and appeared to have been made in February 2017.
The people depicted in the recordings — a male aged 16 at the time and female aged 15 at the time — were contacted and indicated they did not know they were being filmed and never gave Lomax permission to film them.
Also on the second hard drive was video of Lomax with two adult women. Bellis identified one of the women who said she also did not know she was being filmed and did not give Lomax permission to do so.
A majority of the unmarked CDs and DVDs contained adult pornography, including bestiality, though some were titled to indicate they depicted teens or minors.
Several CDs and DVDs also contained true child pornography already known by investigators and were titled to indicate the victims were pre-pubescent, between the ages of 6 and 10.
Bellis said there were more than 20 files equal to more than 1,000 images depicting child pornography, many involving female children being sexually assaulted by adult males.
Original charges
Lomax was arrested in February 2020 after an adult male victim discovered two cameras in his bedroom that had been used to record him and others having sex.
That victim brought three small video cameras and two video cards to Media police Officer Nicole Young after finding two cameras hidden in his bedroom and another in Lomax’s bedroom.
Lomax had been secretly taping the victim since at least 2015, according to District attorney Jack Stollsteimer, and other victims also used the bedroom for sexual encounters. He said all of the victims were horrified to learn of the videos.
The recorded encounters were not arranged by Lomax, but had been secretly recorded by him without anyone else’s knowledge, according to Stollsteimer.
Lomax admitted in stipulations that he placed the cameras, that all of the acts took place inside the same Media home where Lomax lived between February 2015 and January 2020; that three of the victims were underage at the time; and that videos were labeled by the victims’ names.
He was convicted in January on 31 counts following a stipulated bench trial before Court of Common Pleas Judge G. Michael Green.
Those included nine counts each of photographing, videotaping or depicting on a computer sexual acts of a child under the age of 18, child pornography and intercept communications; three counts of produce/present/direct obscene performance by a minor; and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.
In addition to prison time, Lomax was sentenced to 10 years of consecutive sex offender probation. He was designated a sexually violent predator by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board and must register as a sexual offender for life under Megan’s Law.
Deputy District attorney Kristen Kemp, who prosecuted the original case, is prosecuting the new charges as well.
Lomax, who has appealed his conviction and is seeking a new trial, was represented at trial by defense attorney Joseph Lesniak. Neither Lesniak nor appellate counsel Ian McCurdy said they had been asked to represent him on the new charges as of Monday.
Lomax is scheduled for preliminary arraignment Nov. 3 before Magisterial District Judge Michael Culp. He remains incarcerated at SCI Forest in Marienville, Forest County, according to the state Department of Corrections website.
